About Local Government Accountability Lab, Nigeria (logalab.ng)

Local Government Accountability Lab, Nigeria (Logalab.ng) is a civic tech platform dedicated to ensuring local government accountability. It leverages grassroots agents, community-based organizations (Rural Accountability Agents), and emerging technologies (AI) in tracking local government allocations, budgeting implementation, spending, and project monitoring by ensuring the data are open, public, and readily available and accessible to rural residents.

At the core of our work is helping rural residents ask relevant questions about local government finances and getting them to access useful information that drives civic engagement, political education, and participation. Our approach involves deploying research, advocacy, data visualization, and interactive charts and graphs in a personalized, locally relevant way.
